When it comes to jewellery, the trend pendulum swings from gold to silver and back in regular intervals. While gold was coming up on top in the past couple of months, a third partner seems to have entered the scene: red gold. It looks like bronze, but is actually a little lighter.

Red gold can look almost dusky pink and has been spotted on trinkets at Cos and Pieces, but also in the form of a rosé colored zipper on a bomber jacket by Carin Wester. The US jewellery giant Tiffany's went ahead and invented a whole new material called Rubedo that is supposed to boast an especially beautiful shade of red. It's also supposed to be of extremely high quality, justifying its high price. If you'd like to wait and see how long the new color will last, you might want to try one of the more affordable options first.
