Wo die Dumpling-Manufaktur ist,
haben wir mittlerweile herausgefunden:
Es ist die Dunckerstraße 60.
Nur wann sie eröffnet,
steht leider noch nicht fest.
Weekend
08. August 2012
1. Artistenmuseum Wandlitz
If you want to combine your day at the museum with some Brandenburg sightseeing, you could head out to Wandlitz. It's near Schorfheide, where Honecker used to hunt his deer. But Wandlitz is also home to one of Germany's bizarrest museums, the museum for acrobats and circus artists. It's filled to the brim with artifacts from polar bear trainers, tight rope walkers, clowns and “the only woman who could speak forwards and backwards fluently.”
Liebenwalder Damm 2, Wandlitz, +49 333 96 272, www.artistenmuseum.de, open daily from 2pm-6pm and upon request, admission 3,50/3€.
2. Buchstabenmuseum
„Hey buddy, psssst...you wanna buy a letter b?” Remember the letter vendor Schlemihl on Sesame street? If you haven't lost your love for letters or are just a typography nerd, then you should head to the Buchstabenmuseum. It's still a work in progress, but there is already an exhibition room and the museum also offers tours.
Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 13, Berlin-Mitte, +49 177 420 15 87, www.buchstabenmuseum.de, Thu–Sat 1pm-3pm, admission 2,50 €, free admission for kids up to 120 cm.
3. Currywurst Museum
Berlin isn't exactly famous for its world-class cuisine. But the German capital can be proud of one thing: The Currywurst. A museum dedicated to the zesty sausage offers an overview of the history of the Currywurst, as well as a currywurst restaurant that caters even to vegans and vegetarians.
Schützenstraße 70, +49 30 88 71 86 4710117 Berlin-Mitte, www.currywurstmuseum.de, open daily 10am-10pm, admission 11/8,50 €, 25% discount for students on every Monday during summer vacation
4. Labyrinth Kindermuseum
An interactive children's museum in Wedding that regularly hosts exhibits like “Frische Tinte” which runs until August 12 and leads kids through the world of children's author Kornelia Funke with riddles, puzzles and games.
Osloer Straße 12 , Berlin-Wedding, +49 30 800 93 11 50, during summer vacation: Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, Sat 1pm-6pm, Sun+holidays 11am-6pm, admission 4,50/4 €, only 3,50 € on Fridays between 1pm-6pm.
5. Design Panoptikum - Museum für skurrile Objekte
It looks like a lamp store, but it's actually a museum for extremely bizarre objects located directly around the corner from Oranienburger Straße that features everything from vintage lawn mowers to medicinal appliances. Some of them can be bought or rented.
Torstraße 201, Berlin-Mitte, +49 157 74 01 29 91, Mon-Sat 11am-6pm, free admission
