Gerade haben zwei Restaurants eröffnet:

La Soup Populaire und Soya Cosplay.

Nun kursiert das Gerücht,

dass die Tage von Goldneun

am Alex gezählt sind. Sehr schade!

Köpenick

Köpenick for Bikers | Historic Köpenick, 16 km

       11. August 2012

Don't try this with a racing bike, unless you don't mind bumping around on a cobblestone road for a considerable part of the trip.

Head southbound on Borgmannstraße from the S-Bahn station. You'll pass the Amtsgericht Köpenick's scenic façade before you reach the end of Puchanstraße. Cross over Friedrichshagener Straße and you'll catch your first glimpse of the water. Continue in the direction of Alt-Köpenick via Platz des 23. April, be prepared to shift down a gear on Dammbrücke Lindenstraße to take in the sights.

On Alt-Köpenick, the Rathaus with its brick façade is bound to catch your eye. Just a few meters down the street, you can rest on Schlossplatz and down a cold beer at Germany's smallest brewery before you take a detour to the Schlossinsel and visit the castle, a piece of Köpenick history.

Continue on southwards and you'll hit the Kiez – and a stretch of cobblestone roads. But even when you're shaking away, you won't miss the beauty of the little alley and surrounding houses. Take a right into Wendenschloßstraße and continue straight on until you're about to fall into the water. When you continue towards Seebad Wendenschloss, your jaw might drop while you ride past pompous mansions. Beware of mosquitoes, since you'll be riding not only towards the woods but also along the waterfront.

Until Schmetterlingshorst, keep to the Dahme riverbank, maybe stop on the way to dip your feet into the water. Take a left, then head on the paved road towards Müggelturm. This is where the wheat is separated from the chaff, and the athletic bikers from the slow-paced ones. Either suck it in an ride up the Müggelberge or just take a left towards Müggelheimer Damm, which leads back westwards past the Volkspark towards Köpenick's historical city center. You'll hit cobblestones once more when riding over Amtsstraße and Landjägerstraße to Alter Markt and across Katzengrabenbrücke back to the train station. Take another left onto Friedrichshagener Straße, then continue right via Puchan- and Borgmannstraße back to the train station.
