Creative Director Natalie Viaux (photo) greets her guests with exotic snacks on the top floor of her new concept store in Mitte. "We wanted to follow the principle of 'your body, your temple' and offer the corresponding meals and Japanese food is predestined for that." Viaux, a photographer, had originally planned a take-out matcha tea shop when the space on Kronenstraße happened to open up. It had been used for a charity event for Japanese fashion designers during last summer's Fashion Week. Now it is home to a wide assortment of artfully crafted bento boxes and onigiris - Japanese sandwiches served with a special type of rice instead of bread. There is also one Western variation: An onigiri with figs and goat cheese. Guten Appetit!
